Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Ensure all SG/ AML/CFT regulatory requirements and standards are met.
  • Ensuring all regulatory documents are always in line with current directives and regulations.
  • Be one of the main points of contact with regulatory bodies and any other related competent authorities.
  • Accountable with future market entry requirements, ensuring that the relevant business stakeholders have relevant country information to enable an informed decision whilst undertaking market closure activities where applicable.
  • Remain up to date with changes in legislation (training costs met by the company) and best practice.
  • Prepare a monthly compliance pulse update for the board meetings, as well as weekly updates as required.
  • Build upon the Compliance reporting function to ensure the monitoring of process and operational effectiveness is maintained.
  • Working with the relevant teams to investigate breaches.
  • Assist with emergency and business continuity planning.
  • Manage project scopes by ensuring that there is alignment between business and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop regular monitoring procedures and practices to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal systems.
  • Taking care of other duties as assigned by the Director of Compliance occasionally.
  • Understand, monitor and review all developments within the regulatory environment, identify development needs within the business and ensure any requirements are communicated and implemented in a timely manner.
  • Respond to queries and information requests from the Gambling Commission and ensure accurate regulatory returns and submissions are provided.
  • Work with the wider Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to continuously improve the businesses AML and SG risk models to ensure they remain effective.
  • Review customer accounts and undertake dip-sampling programmes to ensure effective controls and operations are consistently followed by the operational teams.
  • Ensure existing licences maintain good standing and support the Compliance team with new licence applications in emerging markets.
  • Provide operational support to the Customer Service, Payments, Product and Marketing teams to ensure compliance and regulatory processes are being upheld in order to provide full support to customers and stakeholders.

Person Specification, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • A self-driven, curious character who is eager to make an impact by making things happen and not afraid to roll their sleeves up.
  • A hands-on type of character, yet with a strategic approach.
  • Someone who is passionate about motivating and informing teams through tailored training sessions.
  • Has an ability to understand and interpret both primary and secondary legislation and the impact it may have on the industry.
  • Good understanding of AML, CTF and SG concepts and other compliance-related regulations (e.g., Marketing).
  • Assertive and enthusiastic and able to travel when appropriate.
  • Strong experience in regulatory compliance and a proven track record of working with remote gaming companies and/or remote gaming regulatory authorities and governing bodies.
  • Has relevant Internal Audit, or Compliance qualifications. ICA Certificate/Diploma (or equivalent) an advantage.
  • A foundation understanding of business information systems and Internet technology specifically as it applies to the online gaming sector.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills (other languages a bonus).
  • Experience of leading a team of 30+ people and enthusiastic about working in a team-oriented collaborative environment.
  • Ability to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.
