Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Ensure business compliance with all relevant regulatory codes, licence requirements and legislation.
  • Understand, monitor and review all developments within the regulatory environment, identify development needs within the business and ensure any requirements are accurate and never outside of a 12-month review, communicated, maintained and implemented in a timely manner.
  • Document the requirements and manage regulatory projects that affect the integrity of our licences (for example, changes in technical standards, new advertising restrictions, etc .. ) and ensure that there is alignment in the project team.
  • Manage the compliance requirements of new market licence applications and where necessary oversee market closures.
  • Be one of the main points of contact with regulatory bodies and any other related competent authorities (specifically including the Gambling Commission of Great Britain, Ontario regulatory bodies, the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner, and the Advertising Standards Agency).
  • Respond to queries and information requests from the Gambling Commission and ensure accurate regulatory returns and submissions are provided.
  • Respond to consultations and steering group requests issued by regulatory bodies and work in conjunction with industry trade associations and lobby groups to promote legislation that is in-line with BetVictor’s business strategy.
  • Any other activities as things evolve with any new gambling acts.
  • Provide day to day support to all internal and external stakeholders on any issues around any market compliance and regulation.
  • Project-lead, as required, and manage both external and internal regulatory audits/compliance reviews.
  • Establish internal processes, KPls, dip-sampling and verification of customer facing products and marketing remain compliant.
  • Develop new systems, policies, procedures and controls as they relate to the regulatory compliance function and build upon the existing reporting system to ensure monitoring and operational effectiveness is maintained.
  • Work with customer services and wider committees to ensure escalated customer complaints are managed a reviewed appropriately in-line with BetVictor’s licensing obligations.

Person Specification, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • A self-driven, curious character who is eager to make an impact by making things happen and not afraid to roll their sleeves up.
  • Assertive and enthusiastic and able to travel when appropriate.
  • Strong experience in regulatory compliance and a proven track record of working with remote gaming companies and/or remote gaming regulatory authorities and governing bodies.
  • Has an ability to understand and interpret both primary and secondary legislation and the impact it may have on the industry.
  • Fully understands the concepts of AMUSG/DP, and other corporate and compliance related rules and regulations.
  • Has relevant Legal, Internal Audit, or Compliance qualifications. ICA Certificate/Diploma (or equivalent) an advantage.
  • A foundation understanding of business information systems and Internet technology specifically as it applies to the online gaming sector. A passion to use information systems to help scale processes and operations.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills (other languages a bonus).
  • Enthusiastic about working in a team-oriented collaborative environment.
  • Ability to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.
