Golden Goal Returns For the 2017/18 Season
Today we’ve announced a change to our free-to-play weekly Golden Goal competition for the forthcoming 2017/18 Premier League season.
Building on the success of our Euro 2016 Million Pound Goal campaign, Golden Goal last season asked new and existing customers to predict the minute and scorer of the opening goal in a pre-selected match – usually the late televised kick-off on a Sunday afternoon.
We had high customer engagement levels with Golden Goal last season thanks to its seamless integration across all channels and simple, clear communication with players. It is also worth noting that a large majority of our football customers participated in Golden Goal during the season.
The feedback from customers was overwhelmingly positive but a consistent observation was that there were not enough £25,000 rollovers and often too many winners. Indeed one weekend when Zlatan scored the opening goal in the 19th minute it produced 926 winners of £27 each – hardly a Golden Goal.

As a result we’ve made some changes
We are now asking customers to predict not only the time of the first goal and goalscorer but also the correct score of the selected game.
Customers, who correctly predict the minute and scorer of the first goal, but not the correct score, will receive a free £5 bet.
Customers can play Golden Goal for the first time this season ahead of the Manchester United v West Ham clash at Old Trafford on Sunday 13th August kick off 4pm. Enter your predictions here.
The prize pool for the opening weekend will be £50,000 and this amount will rollover and increase weekly by £25,000 if there is no winner. Once the Golden Goal is won, the prize pool will revert to £25,000 each week. If there is more than one winner the prize will be shared.
We are committed to giving away over £1,000,000 during the forthcoming season with over 40 Golden Goal games guaranteed during the forthcoming 2017/18 European domestic season.
All BetVictor account holders will receive one free prediction each week and have the chance to earn up to two additional predictions each week by placing real money bets on any of our products.
