The magic of the Cup was a little more magical for one man from the North East on Sunday, who placed the correct £75,000 Golden Goal prediction:

Alvaro Morata                     – first goalscorer

42nd Minute                         – time of first goal

1-1                                         – correct score for the game in 90 minutes

The customer’s own initial selection included Eden Hazard to score first and Chelsea to win 3-1 but, fortunately, he had earned a second prediction and this time he asked his partner for her thoughts – which turned out to be an inspired selection!

After a spin for first goalscorer – which landed on Morata – his partner then picked both the correct minute and final score much to their delight.

The Golden Goal

There were not many punters cheering on the draw at the King Power but one customer had an anxious wait after Vardy’s 76th minute equaliser and he and his family are now £75,000 richer.

The customer, who wishes to remain anonymous, said when asked what he would do with his winnings:

“I’ve got my kid’s birthday this weekend so that‘ll be a blast I guess. I’ve only just opened a BetVictor account and this was only my second or third attempt – my missus picked the time and the scoreline so technically she deserves most of the credit.”

Charlie McCann, Head of Sportsbook PR, said:

“We included the additional factor of having to predict the correct score this season to our free-to-play Golden Goal competition because our customers fed back they wanted to see more rollovers and bigger winners. That’s what we got this the weekend and we are thrilled that his £75,000 win will change the life of the customer and his family.

“We are back to £25,000 on offer for the Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur Golden Goal game in two weeks – perhaps we’ll see Alvaro Morata popping up again in the Premier League.”
