Betting Round Up: Promotion Race Heats Up
2 min readSteel City On The Rise
A good day for Sheffield United who saw leaders Norwich drop two points at Stoke this afternoon and then Yorkshire rivals Leeds lose 2-0 at Brentford this evening. The Blades close to within three points of the Canaries and are from 10/1 for the title with City from 1/10.
It was still good news for Norwich however with Leeds losing, as with a far superior goal difference promotion to the Premier League is almost assured. Sheffield United are from 8/13 to be joining them with a top two finish whilst promotion is from 4/11.
Leeds now look likely to face a really tough battle in the playoffs to reach the top flight and they are from 4/6 to achieve that.
Pompey chimes ringing loud
Portsmouth kept alive their League One title hopes when coming from a goal behind at the break to beat playoff chasing Coventry 2-1 at Fratton Park. Pompey move up to second position and are 12/1 from 20/1 after closing to within four points of leaders Luton who are for the crown.
A seventh straight league success means Portsmouth are from 15/8 to finish in the top two that would secure automatic promotion whilst promotion of any kind is from 11/10.
