Betting Round Up: Sheffield United Boost Promotion Hopes
3 min readSheffield United win, Leeds lose
Sheffield United took advantage of an early second half red card shown to visitors Nottingham Forest to finally run out cosy 2-0 winners at Bramall Lane. The Blades move back into second place above rivals Leeds and are four points behind leaders Norwich City.
Meanwhile, Leeds missed a great chance to move back into the automatic promotion places after losing 2-1 at home to ten men Wigan this afternoon. United missed a penalty and surrendered the lead in an amazing match at Elland Road which left the visitors with a five point cushion over the final relegation slot. Leeds are from 9/2 for the title with Norwich, who host Sheffield Wednesday this evening, now 1-16 from 1-7.

Playoff Hopes
The race to secure a top six spot and a playoff berth is equally as fascinating. Bristol City drop out of the top six after Middlesbrough beat Stoke 1-0 at the Riverside. City are with Boro now from 2/1 pre match.
Bristol City were held to a 1-1 draw at home against struggling Reading in the early game which has hit their promotion hopes.
All Roads Lead To League 1
Wigan will feel they have almost secured championship safety and are from 5/1 for the drop whilst its looking grim for Rotherham who twice led at Swansea before losing 4-3 and are from 2/7 to be playing in League One next season. The Millers are starting to need snookers and are three points behind Millwall having played a game more.
