The UEFA Europa League is here for matchday two. BetVictor Brand Ambassador Michael Owen lines up his latest preview ahead of a great night of action.
Sparta Prague v Rangers
The match to be a 1-1 draw
Steven Gerrard’s Rangers are yet to hit their best form this season but are still dominating domestically. They played well in spells against Lyon at Ibrox in their first game but need to take their chances when they come. They’ve made the last 16 in the last two seasons under Gerrard though, so I fancy them to get a draw in Prague.
Legia Warsaw v Leicester City
Leicester City to win 2-1
Leicester are creating chances but are letting in too many goals at the minute. After blowing a two-goal lead to Napoli in their last, I’d expect a response in this. It’s never easy to play away from home in what will be a hostile atmosphere in Poland, but I think they can get a 2-1 win.
Celtic v Bayer 04 Leverkusen
The match to be a 1-1 draw
It’s been a tough start for new Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou. They play nice football but concede far too many goals, as shown in that thriller against Real Betis. Celtic Park is one of the best places to play on a European night and this will feel like a huge occasion for those fans. I’m predicting a 1-1 draw.
West Ham United v Rapid Vienna
West Ham United to win 2-1
West Ham continue to pick up some impressive wins under David Moyes. The 2-0 win in Zagreb in the opening game was a much better result than it sounds and I’m expecting a good performance in front of the home fans here. Those fans have waited a long time for European nights so I’m sure that the atmosphere in the stadium will be fantastic. I’m going for 2-0 West Ham.
