Champions League Preview: Group Stage Round 3

The Champions League group stages continue this week and I’ve once again shared my thoughts exclusively for BetVictor on Matchday 3 for the British clubs.

Liverpool head to Maribor in what looks, on paper, a terrific opportunity to end a run of just 1 win in 8 when making the long trip to Slovenia. The Reds should prove too strong and whilst perhaps too short at 1/5 to leave with a nice confidence booster look a fair price at 12/5Â to win and both teams to score.
Tip: Liverpool to win and both teams to score at
Man City v Napoli

The Citizens were outstanding at the weekend, with Kevin De Bruyne well worthy of the plaudits after his terrific performance in City’s 7-2 defeat of Stoke City. BetVictor have cut him to 2/1 (from 4s) favourite to be the PFA Player of the Year and with him pulling the strings in midfield once more Pep Guardiola’s side should get the better of an in-form Napoli side.
Tip: Man City to win at
Real Madrid v Spurs
A trip to the Santiago Bernabeu offers Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino the stiffest test of managerial career thus far in North London with Real Madrid 9/20 favourites to make it five wins on the bounce on Tuesday; Spurs 11/2 and the draw 4s. Cristiano Ronaldo’s side look to be getting better with every game this term and should stamp their superiority against the visitors.
Tip: Real Madrid to win to nil at
Benfica v Man Utd
Manchester United left Anfield with a point at the weekend and, after producing another staunch rear-guard performance in the Premier League, should do likewise to gain a result in the Champions League. United have conceded just four goals in eleven games this season, keeping eight clean sheets, and should add to that tally once more midweek.
Tip: Man Utd to win either 1-0 or 2-0 at
Chelsea v Roma

The Blues did bookmakers, and Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson, a favour at the weekend losing 2-1 at Selhurst Park but they are a much better side on home soil and should beat a Roma side left licking their wounds from Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Napoli in Serie A.
Tip: Eden Hazard to score anytime at
Bayern Munich v Celtic

BetVictor are top price 10/11 for Bayern Munich to beat Celtic without conceding in the German capital and I expect them to beat Brendan Rodgers’ side without conceding.
Tip: Bayern Munich to win to nil at
