The new Premier League 2019/20 season has arrived and in the build-up to the big kick-off, the outright betting markets at BetVictor are up and running.

If last season is anything to go by, where 25 points separated second place from third in the title race, you can be forgiven for having the opinion that the regular outright winner market lacks appeal this year.

The odds may be pointing towards another two-horse race between Manchester City and Liverpool in this category, so we’ve picked out some of our alternative outright markets that may still present plenty of value and excitement for you.

Winner/Top Scorer

This year’s clear favourites Manchester City can be backed at 4/9 to retain the Premier League title. The odds suggest that the competition isn’t as wide open this season as it has been in recent campaigns, but if you’re with the majority in thinking it’ll be City’s year again, our Premier League Winner/Top Scorer market gives you some interesting options.

A fifth Premier League title and Sergio Aguero to finish as top goalscorer for last season’s highest-scoring team will get you 8/1 odds. Raheem Sterling’s goal return over the past two seasons under Pep Guardiola has been excellent. As his game continues to go from strength to strength, City to win the league and the England star to claim the golden boot could be worth a look at 25/1.

Winner/Top Scorer:

Manchester City/Sergio Aguero

Liverpool/Mohamed Salah

Manchester City/Raheem Sterling

Liverpool/Sadio Mane

Top Scorer

Last season’s Premier League Golden Boot turned out to be a thrilling affair. After going right down to the wire, the award was shared between Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Sergio Aguero finished only one goal behind the winning trio, and the likes of Jamie Vardy, Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane were well in contention, too.

It may be tough to predict a winner again this year, but last season’s result has helped create a wide-open market for the 2019/20 season.

Top Scorer:

Harry Kane

Mohamed Salah

Sergio Aguero

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Sadio Mane

Raheem Sterling

Jamie Vardy

Top 6 Finish

Possibly one of the more intriguing markets this season; can anyone disrupt the ‘Big Six’?

With uncertainty surrounding the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal in particular, is the gap between the top six and the best-of-the-rest likely to shorten?

Last season’s seventh-placed team Wolves are priced at 4/1 for a top-six finish. This time around, they will need to prove that they can balance Europa League football with domestic competition in their second Premier League campaign since coming up in 2018.

Everton, Leicester City and West Ham have invested heavily in their squads this summer in a bid to push on and put some pressure on the bigger clubs. Can the absence of European competition help their cause? There could be value here, especially if you’re of the opinion that someone from the traditional big six is set for a difficult campaign.

Top 6 Finish:

Everton

Leicester City

Wolverhampton Wanderers

West Ham

Relegation Treble

Newcomers Sheffield United (8/13) and Norwich (5/6) are odds-on to make a swift return to the Championship at the end of the 2019/20 campaign.

A host of other Premier League clubs are grouped closely together in the relegation betting as the bookmakers attempt to make a call on who has the upper hand on who, following a summer of managerial changes and unusually high transfer activity for some.

The Relegation Treble market at BetVictor can enhance the stakes significantly and may appeal if you have made your mind up on which three clubs will be out of their depth this season.

The three current favourites for the drop make up a 14/1 treble, while you can back the newly promoted clubs – Aston Villa, Norwich City and Sheffield United – to all go straight back down at 16/1. A whole host of other combinations are priced at 20’s and above on our Football Outrights page.

Relegation Treble:

Brighton/Norwich City/Sheffield United

Burnley/Norwich City/Sheffield United

Aston Villa/Norwich City/Sheffield United
