Emiliano Martinez

In goal this week, I’m picking Emi Martinez.  That was a good win at Goodison for Villa, and he was right at the heart of it. He made one brilliant save from Onana’s header and looked in control the whole game. It’s been a brilliant few months for him and it looks like his game has gone up a level since the World Cup.

Rico Lewis

City were fantastic against Bournemouth and Rico Lewis caught my eye again. He’s clearly a player that Pep likes, he’s always liked players who can play in a few positions and this lad is definitely that. He was back in the team here and didn’t put a foot wrong. Strong in the tackle and composed on the ball, he could develop into a fine player.

Marc Guehi

Marc Guehi has been brilliant since signing for Palace and is developing into a top centre-half. He’s quick, strong and a real leader for this Palace side. Against Liverpool, I thought he was fantastic. He was first to everything and probably should have got his side a goal as well. If he keeps this up, he could play himself into Gareth Southgate’s side.

Eric Dier

I don’t think Eric Dier gets enough credit. Whether it’s in midfield or at the back, you know what you’re going to get from the lad. He’s been a key player at the heart of Conte’s defence this year and he was top class against Chelsea. He won everything that came his way and played a big part in Harry Kane’s goal.

Junior Firpo

What a massive win that was for Leeds and Junior Firpo was crucial. He’s not quite hit it off at Leeds but that should give him a real lift moving forward. I thought he was fantastic defensively and going forward. To get a late winner just capped off a great day. It wasn’t the cleanest of finishes, but he and Leeds won’t care one bit!

Declan Rice

I seem to pick Declan Rice all the time, what a top player he’s become. It was a typical Declan Rice performance against Forest, he was everywhere. The only area he can improve on is adding a few more goals to his game, and he did just that at the weekend. That was a lovely strike from him, and if he keeps that up, there won’t be many better in that position in world football.

Ruben Neves

Wolves must have been frustrated to not get the win but a point at Craven Cottage is still a decent return. Ruben Neves was top class again. I’m always impressed by this lad. I don’t see many weaknesses in his game. Wolves will be desperate to keep him in the summer, he’s such a leader for this side.

Emi Buendia

Emi Buendia has been playing very well in recent weeks for Villa, he’s a lovely footballer to watch. He’s got good feet and is a real threat in the final third. His game has gone up a level since Emery took charge, he’s becoming a key player in this Villa side.

Phil Foden

Phil Foden has had a frustrating few weeks with injuries but don’t forget what a huge talent this lad is.  He was back to his brilliant best against Bournemouth and was probably the best player on the park. He got on the scoresheet with a typically composed finish. He’s on track for the best scoring season of his career, and you can see why. He’s my star man this week.

Danny Ings

Danny Ings has always been a player who knows where the goal is, he looks a great bit of business for West Ham. He’s a natural striker and will always pick up good positions in the box. His two goals at the weekend won’t win any competitions but they were typical striker goals. West Ham should climb the table now and I can see Ings scoring a bunch more goals between now and the end of the season.

Harry Kane

Last up, it’s Harry Kane. I’ve run out of plaudits to say about Harry, his consistency is just amazing. He always seems to score in these big games for Spurs! That’s now 18 goals in the league for him, I don’t think people realise how good a season he is having.  Spurs are still chasing a top four spot and they’ll need their main man to keep this form up.
