My keeper this week, Gavin Bazunu. This young lad has had an up and down season, but he’s a young goalie and he’s got loads of potential. He’s got a real presence and is comfortable with the ball at his feet, a typical modern keeper. I thought he was superb at Old Trafford and was vital in Southampton getting a point.
At right-back, Kyle Walker-Peters. He was unlucky not to get a goal against United and his overall performance was outstanding. I’ve always liked Kyle; he’s got a bit of everything in his game. There’s a lot of good English right-backs in the league and Walker-Peters is one of them.
Marcos Senesi has to be in my side this week, he was outstanding for Bournemouth! It was a fantastic defensive effort against Liverpool, and he was as good as anyone. He’s been a good signing for the club, and he was also terrific the week before against Arsenal.
I had a feeling that Michael Keane would be a big player for Sean Dyche. He’d been out the side, but Dyche knows him and when you’re in a relegation battle, you need players that you can trust. Everton look a much more organised side now and I thought the pairing of Keane and Tarkowski were terrific against Brentford.
Ben Chilwell is a must; he’s been fantastic recently. He got a goal against his old side at the weekend, and he struck that volley very well. It’s no surprise that Chelsea’s form has picked up with him in this form. When Ben is playing like this, I don’t think there’s a better left-back in the country.
I’ve got to have Philip Billing in the side. He’s a big player for this Bournemouth side and is always a threat to get a goal. I like the runs he makes; he’s always looking to get in the box. Scoring against Arsenal and Liverpool in back-to-back weeks shows what a threat he can be from midfield. He’s got a real presence in there and will be vital in Bournemouth’s fight to stay up.
An easy pick here, Leandro Trossard. I thought Arsenal were absolutely fantastic in the first half against Fulham and Trossard created all three of the goals. He’s been a great signing for Arsenal and has added something different to the side. Based on the performance we saw at the weekend, it’s hard to see Arsenal dropping many points.
Joe Willock was brilliant against Wolves; he did a bit of everything. He got an assist, he put tackles in, he made some good runs with the ball, a top midfield performance! Joe is a fantastic athlete, and someone who I’ve always liked.
I’ve got to have one more Bournemouth player, Dango Ouattara. He only signed in January, but he already looks like a vital player in this side. He gave Andy Robertson a lot of problems at the weekend, not many do that. He did brilliantly to create the goal and he looks like a really exciting talent.
My star man has to be Harry Kane. We’re so used to Harry scoring goals that I don’t think we appreciate the consistency of it. That’s now twenty goals he’s got in the league this season, and he took both his goals at the weekend well. It was a difficult week for Spurs, but they bounced back well against Forest and a large part of that is down to Harry.
I really like the look of Alexander Isak, he’s such a handful for defenders! He’s tall, quick and very good with the ball at his feet. I don’t see many weaknesses in his game and his header at the weekend was a great finish. Newcastle have had a difficult run recently, but if Isak can keep this form up, they still have a chance to finish in the top four.
