Bernd Leno
In goal this week, Bernd Leno. I’ve always liked Leno and I thought he was a great signing when they got him from Arsenal. He kept Fulham in the game in the first half and is good in 1 v 1 situations. He’s a German international for a reason, and Fulham are lucky to have him.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
At right-back, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, he’s been playing well in recent weeks. Forest are dangerous from the left, but he kept them quiet, it was a good performance. There’s not many full-backs who are as good defensively as this lad.
Max Kilman
Max Kilman is a must. He’s wearing the armband now for Wolves and he’s certainly leading his side. That was a massive win for Wolves and Max was at the heart of it. He was aggressive, blocking shots, winning challenges, a real top performance. He’s still young, I think he can get even better.
John Stones
John Stones is one of the form players in the country. John has been exceptional recently, at centre-half or even in midfield. That finish from him at the weekend was brilliant, there’s not many defenders who can finish like that. John’s such a classy footballer and a Rolls-Royce of a defender, he’s probably in the form of his life at the minute.
Alex Moreno
Alex Moreno might just be January’s best signing, he’s been terrific. He was fantastic against Arsenal and was such a threat all game long. He’s quick, good on the ball and so positive. Villa were brilliant and he was as good as anyone on the park.
Eberechi Eze
Eberechi Eze is back in my side this week. He’s playing well at the minute; Roy Hodgson clearly knows how to get the best out of him. He’s always been a lovely footballer but if he can keep adding goals to his game, he’s going to become a top player. Keep an eye on him between now and the end of the season.
Jarrod Bowen
I’m a huge fan of Jarrod Bowen, he’s my sort of player. He’s quick, a great finisher and he works his socks off. What I like about Jarrod is his movement, he doesn’t just stand on the wing, he’s constantly making runs inside, in between the centre-half and the full-back. He took his goal brilliantly against Arsenal, that wasn’t an easy finish.
Bruno Fernandes
Bruno Fernandes was terrific against Forest. Forest were giving him far too much space and if you give a player like Bruno that much time, he’ll make you pay. His passing was top-class, and he was always positive, always trying to make things happen.
Kaoru Mitoma
It’s not the first time that Kaoru Mitoma has made my side, it won’t be the last. I love watching this guy play, he’s so classy and composed on the ball. He always has his head up, always has time on the ball. He seems to be getting better and better and Brighton are playing so well at the minute.
Dominic Solanke
Dominic Solanke makes my team this week. It was an unbelievable result for Bournemouth and Dominic scored one and assisted the other two. It was a lovely, classy finish from him for his goal. He’s still a young lad, and it looks like he’s developing into the player many people thought he could be. A top performance.
Ollie Watkins
Last up my star man, Ollie Watkins, he was exceptional against Newcastle! It was a perfect strikers performance, he caused them so many problems. He didn’t stop running, didn’t stop closing defenders down and if anything, he could have scored more than the two he got. Botman and Schar are a great pairing, but Ollie destroyed them.
