Another strong performance from England’s number one. Everton were up against it for most of the match, but I thought Pickford stewarded his defence well and made a couple of crucial saves.
He’s turning into a decent signing for Newcastle. Ever reliable, he’ll still have an eye on the World Cup. In terms of consistency, there aren’t many that can match him in the Premier League.
Max Kilman has caught my eye a few times this season, and I thought he was excellent on Saturday again. Wolves are decent defensively, and Kilman keeps proving time and time again how important he is to the side.
This lad has his critics, but I think they are a little unfounded. He reads the game well, and when the first yard is in your head, you’ll always have a bit of an edge. Hopefully, he keeps progressing, but so far, he’s had a more than a decent start to life at United.
He’ll have been delighted to be back in the side, and he took his opportunity coming off the bench. A goal and an assist mean he must be in Thomas Tuchel’s plans going forward.
He’s really settling into life at Manchester United. He makes it look so easy, just a lovely player to watch in full flight. It’s already apparent that Ten Hag will be relying on him this season, and you can see why.
Alexis Mac Allister
I’m a big fan of how Brighton play, and thought they were terrific in their 5-2 win against Leicester. Alexis Mac Allister was everywhere, and got his double, which was well deserved. He’s one to keep an eye on. I thought he epitomised everything good about the Seagulls on Saturday.
‘It’s great to see Rashford scoring again. He’s had a bit of a rough patch, but now back in the side, he looks like he’s found a nice bit of form. He was ruthless in front of goal, which is great news for both England and Manchester United.‘
He’s carving out a fantastic career at the Cherries, and once again, was crucial in getting all three points. It was a great team effort to come from behind and win, especially after what happened against Liverpool. Hopefully, this will push them on to greater things this season.
What a hit that was for Villa’s equaliser. Villa had to soak it up a bit against City, but when they got it forward, Bailey always looked lively. His goal was more instinctive than anything else, a proper strikers finish.
This lad has a huge future. He’s started the season on fire, and his hat-trick will certainly draw some attention. There are a few at the top end of the Premier League table that need a striker, and you couldn’t blame them for having an eye on Toney. That performance earns him the Star Man this week.
