BetVictor Brand Ambassador Michael Owen predicted the correct score in England’s 2-1 at home to Belgium on Sunday evening. With more midweek football UEFA Nations League action just around the corner, he returns with his picks as the home nations look forward to another round of fixtures.
Bulgaria to win
Bulgaria v Wales
Wales sit top of Group 4 after 3 games played. The Welsh have ground out a couple of results and did well to come away with a point against Ireland on Sunday. The lack of fire power up front is a cause for concern for the Welsh here, and I think Bulgaria can take full advantage.
Draw
Finland v Republic of Ireland
Ireland were unlucky to not have won either of their games during the international break, so far. Sunday’s goalless draw at home to Wales means Stephen Kenny’s side find themselves adrift in 3rd position in Group 4. Finland are playing well, but I think Ireland will have enough to come away with a point.
Draw
Scotland v Czech Republic
Scotland are flying! They followed up their win on penalties against Israel with victory at home to Slovakia on Sunday night. The Czech’s have welcomed back a few key players to their side, so this should pose a stronger test for the Scots. I can see this being another tight match, so I’m going for a draw.
Norway -1 goal
Norway v Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland were dealt a blow after their midweek heroics when going down 1-0 at home to Austria. Norway come into this in good form with Erling Braut Haaland scoring goals for fun. They have scored 9 goals in their last two group matches, 5 of which came against Northern Ireland. This will be a tough one for the away side, and I think the improving Norwegian’s will come away with the points.
England to win 3-1
England v Denmark
England welcome Denmark to Wembley after a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Belgium on Sunday evening. Gareth Southgate will be delighted with that result. The Three Lions played really well in the 2nd half, and with that win behind them, I can see them taking 3 points again.
