Brand Ambassador Michael Owen looks towards this week’s four Champions League matches including action from Chelsea and Manchester United.
Ajax v Benfica
Ajax to win 3-1
These two played out a very entertaining first leg, and I think this will be just as open. It’s never been easy to get a result in Amsterdam, and with the home crowd behind them, I think the Dutch side will get through here. They are absolutely flying domestically, so if they can find that sort of form, I think they’ll have too much.
Manchester United v Atletico Madrid
Manchester United to win 1-0
That was a great result for Manchester away in Madrid. We all know how patchy they’ve been domestically, but I think Europe comes as a welcome distraction. This isn’t the Atletico of old when they had, arguably, the best defence in Europe, so I think United can get a result here.
Juventus v Villarreal
Juventus to win 2-1
All square from the first leg in Spain, I can see another tight match here. Villarreal are becoming quite assured in Europe, as they’ve been on the scene for long enough now. However, Turin is never easy, and I can see the home side just edging through here.
Lille v Chelsea
Chelsea to win 1-0
Chelsea are in the driving seat ahead of this one. These types of matches are Thomas Tuchel’s bread and butter. Sit in, give nothing away, and when it comes to the point where Lille must throw everything forward, it’d be just typical that Chelsea nick one. It’s 1-0 to the Blues for me.
