England to win to nil
Denmark v England
England move on from their disappointing performance against Iceland to face Denmark on Tuesday evening. Gareth Southgate will be expecting much more from his young Lions.
Denmark began their UEFA Nations League campaign with a 2-0 loss to Belgium which put an end to Denmark’s impressive unbeaten run of 15 games. While new manager, Kasper Hjulmand will have been hoping for more, he will be comforted by their performance and the fact that they were facing a team who have now lost just twice in their last 43 matches.
England are still getting back to form and fitness so we shouldn’t expect too much at this stage and it’s certainly a little unfair to analyse and criticise every individual player’s performance given these unprecedented times that we all currently live in. Remember, this was England’s first match since last November and the bottom line is, they got the job done, collected the win and three points. And, as a bonus, Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden were both given their England debuts which will only add to the number of players that Gareth Southgate can call on with confidence.
I think we’ll see an improved performance from the Three Lions on Tuesday night, albeit in a tight game with few goals. However, I fancy them to get the job done once more and come away with a 1-0 victory.
