This weekend’s Premier League action.

Brentford v Southampton

Brentford to win 2-1

Brentford may have lost at Old Trafford on Monday, but the form over the last month has been brilliant.  Their debut season in the league couldn’t have gone much better, and I’m sure they’ll want to finish it in style.

Southampton on the other hand, have had a difficult month in the league. They lost in the last-minute against Palace last week, and they probably didn’t deserve much from the game.  You never want to end the season on a bad run of form, so Hasenhuttl will want a win soon.

I don’t think it will come here though. I don’t think there’s much between these two, the table shows that, but Brentford are in far better form. 2-1.

Burnley v Aston Villa

1-1 draw

Burnley’s win over Watford last week could be a season defining win. They’ve been in great form in recent weeks, but it looked like they might not get anything from the game. To score two goals in the last ten minutes showed so much character.

Villa hadn’t been in the best of form but cruised to the win against Norwich last week. They created plenty of chances, but Steven Gerrard will want to see his side score a few more goals.

Burnley are edging closer towards safety. Every point matters at this stage of the season, and a point here would be a good point. 1-1 is my prediction.

Chelsea v Wolves

Chelsea to win 2-0

That defeat to Everton was a bad one for Chelsea and all of a sudden, there’s a little bit of pressure on them. Spurs and in particular, Arsenal, aren’t far off them now and Chelsea will be looking over their shoulders. They’ve still got a points cushion, but they can’t afford to slip-up again.

Wolves are in poor form though. That’s now three defeats in a row and just as worryingly, they’ve not scored in any of them. They’ve obviously had issues scoring goals all season.

I can’t see Wolves posing much threat here. This should be a routine 2-0 Chelsea win.

Crystal Palace v Watford

Crystal Palace to win 3-1

That was a good win for Palace away to Southampton last week, and that’s confirmed their safety. It’s been a brilliant first year at the helm for Patrick Vieira and he’ll be targeting a top half finish.

This should be an ideal game for them. Watford are all but down, it’s been a disappointing return to the league for them. The goals have dried up in the second half of the season, and they’ve had issues at the back all season.

I can only see a comfortable Palace win. Watford have problems at the back, and Palace should score a few.

Brighton v Manchester United

Brighton to win 2-1

Brighton’s form in April was superb. With wins away against Arsenal, Spurs and Wolves, they’ve shown themselves to be one of the best away sides in the league.

I never know what Man United we are going to see, but I thought they played well on Monday against Brentford. Ronaldo is ending the season in great form, scoring in his last three.

I won’t be surprised if he scores in this one as well, but I fancy Brighton to get the win. 2-1!

Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur

Liverpool to win 3-1

I’m running out of superlatives for this Liverpool side, the wins just keep coming. It wasn’t an emphatic performance, but the win last week at Newcastle was huge. That comeback win in Spain on Tuesday is bound to mean they enter this in great spirit. Luis Diaz changed the game against Villarreal, and I’d expect to see him from the start here.

This one is huge for Spurs. Considering Arsenal’s recent form, I don’t think Spurs can afford to lose this game. Son has been in brilliant form, and he’s in the running for the golden boot.

However, I can’t not pick Liverpool. No side in Europe is in better form than them and they just don’t look like losing, particularly at Anfield. 3-1.

Arsenal v Leeds United

Arsenal to win 2-0

It wasn’t a dominant win against West Ham last week, but Mikel Arteta won’t care one bit. That’s three massive wins in a row, and the that fourth position is looking more and more likely. With Spurs facing that tough trip to Anfield, this is a huge opportunity for Arsenal to pull away from them.

A few weeks ago, I thought Leeds were safe. Now, I’m not so sure! With Burnley and Everton picking up some huge wins in recent weeks, the pressure is back on Jesse Marsch’s side. The performance against City wasn’t great, they’ll need an improvement here.

Arsenal have the habit of unexpectedly dropping points, but I can’t see that here. I’m saying 2-0 to Arsenal.

Leicester City v Everton

Everton to win 1-0

8/1

Leicester’s recent league form hasn’t been great. They’ve kept the ball well in a lot of these games, but they’ve not created or scored enough. They are still so reliant on Vardy to get the goals, they need others to step-up.

It’s hard to overstate how big a win that was for Everton last week. They were under so much pressure and I was beginning to really worry for them. Their form at Goodison will be the key to them staying up.

Everton’s away form has been disastrous all season, but I fancy them here! Leicester having played in Rome on Thursday, are bound to be a little fatigued and Everton just have far more to play for. 1-0 Everton.

Norwich City v West Ham United

West Ham United to win 2-0

8/1

Norwich are officially relegated; it’s just not happened for them this season. I worried for them at the start of the season defensively, but the lack of goals in the side has been a real surprise. They’ll just be wanting to end the season and begin planning for next year.

West Ham’s league form has really taken a hit in the second half of the season, particularly as they focus on the Europa League. Despite that, they still have a chance of a top six finish, and they’ll want to ensure European football for another season.

West Ham will win this, I don’t think Norwich have enough to threaten them. 2-0.

Manchester City v Newcastle United

Manchester City to win 2-0

5/1

After that heart-breaking defeat in Madrid on Wednesday, this game is now massive for Man City’s season. They’ll be desperate to get over that defeat as soon as possible. The form in the league has been brilliant of late, but this won’t be easy.

Newcastle are one of the form teams in the league, and they gave Liverpool a tough game last week. Newcastle are safe, so they have nothing to lose here.

This could be a nervy one at the Etihad, but I think City will have enough to get the win. 2-0 to City.
