It’s Premier League catch-up time with four fixtures affecting the title race, relegation battle and race for the top four. BetVictor Brand Ambassador Michael Owen has shared his thoughts on the action.
Burnley v Tottenham
Match to be drawn 1-1
What a huge result that was for Burnley against Brighton. I didn’t see the win coming, let alone scoring three against such an organised Brighton defence. Weghorst took his goal brilliantly, he really could be the difference for this side.
It was a crazy game at the Etihad, and somehow Spurs came out on top. I’m not sure how deserved it was, but one thing is for sure, Harry Kane was exceptional. His movement and finishing were typically brilliant, but it was his passing and hold up play that really caught the eye. I don’t think enough people realise how good a passer he is, he’s fantastic.
I fancy Burnley to build on that win at the weekend. Spurs still don’t look secure at the back to me, and Lloris has had a few errors in recent weeks. I can see Burnley exploiting that and getting a goal. 1-1.
Watford v Crystal Palace
Palace to win 2-1
What a huge win that was for Watford. They’ve not been playing well recently so every credit to them, that could transform their season. Emmanuel Dennis has been out of form, so for him to get a goal is another big positive.
As for Palace, that was a frustrating defeat to Chelsea and yet another late goal conceded. Palace have been good under Vieira but they aren’t safe just yet. This game has now become a huge one. A win would put them on the verge of safety, lose and Palace could still be dragged into the relegation fight.
This will be an even, competitive game. I’m going for Palace to narrowly win, 2-1.
Liverpool v Leeds
Liverpool to win 3-1
Liverpool can play better, but the 3-1 win over Norwich was a good win nonetheless. The three goals coming from Mane, Salah and Diaz is a huge positive moving forward. There’s so much attacking quality and pace in this side, it must be a nightmare to play against.
Leeds’ game against Man United was a strange one. The conditions played a massive part, but Leeds have problems at the back. I never worry about them at the other end of the pitch, but if they are to stay up, they need to improve defensively.
I wouldn’t be shocked if Leeds scored here, but Liverpool will get the win. 3-1 Liverpool.
Arsenal v Wolves
Game to be drawn 0-0
It wasn’t emphatic, but Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Brentford was a vital one. Arsenal’s games are rarely high-scoring but they could do with more attacking threat. I do see a lot of improvement in this side at the back though, they’ve got a good platform there.
As for Wolves, this is a massive game for them. Wolves’ top-four hopes probably rest on getting at least something from this game. They can’t afford to lose here and drop further away from Arsenal. Daniel Podence really impressed against Leicester, and he was a threat all day.
Both sides will be desperate to not lose this game. I don’t think we will see a lot of goals at the Emirates, I actually think we’ll see a goalless draw!
