Michael Owen was best known for one thing during his playing days – scoring goals. Lots of them.
He remains one of the top ten all-time Premier League goalscorers, although his most famous goals in club football arguably came in the 2001 FA Cup Final where a late brace against Arsenal helped set Liverpool on their way to a cup treble, and him to a prestigious Ballon d’Or award. He is still the only Englishman to ever receive the accolade.
Over the course of 16 seasons in England, Owen scored a total of 180 goals in all competitions against 41 different opponents while wearing the colours of Liverpool, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Stoke City.
