PGA Tour – Wyndham Championship Preview3 min read
Our golf tipster has picked back-to-back winners on the PGA Tour and strongly fancies Jason Dufner at for the Wyndham Championship. Justin Thomas won the PGA Championship last week, advised at , but it was heartache elsewhere as we tipped up Kevin Kisner at a big price who let punters down with a terrible last few holes.
Kisner is the 16/1 second favourite but looked spent after going in the water at 18 at Quail Hollow and is far, far too short after a gruelling four days at the fourth and final major. Henrik Stenson is the favourite but has been too inconsistent this year, however, Dufner has been the exact opposite and was magnificent in carding a final round 68 to win the Memorial Tournament earlier in the season.
He will have been no doubt buoyed by the success of good friend Justin Thomas last weekend and will relish the straight fairways and narrows greens this week. Another friend of JT who likewise has a lot to celebrate is Smylie Kaufman, who got engaged to his childhood sweetheart last week. Kaufman’s strengths are his accuracy off the tee and I’m surprised to see him as big as .
The 25-year-old is currently ranked 135 in the Fedex Cup rankings and needs a good week to avoid being bubbled. He was back to form with finishes of T12 and T27 finishes when last seen on tour and shouldn’t be as big as .
Ollie Schniederjans was just that until a gamble in the week, and he still looks a fair bit of value . The tournament has a good record for rookie winners and after achieving four top tens on tour already this season, he arrives in good form to gain a deserved maiden success.
