After a busy evening at Kilbeggan, Rachael Blackmore travels to Killarney where she has 5 rides.
We caught up with the rider ahead of all the action, as she speaks to us exclusively on the BetVictor blog.
I start Saturday with the ride on Arthur Fonzarelli (14:15) for Henry. He jumped much better the last day when he ran well at Wexford. If he puts in a similar performance he won’t be too far away.
Next up, I partner Wishful Thinking (14:50). He’ll need to improve on what he’s done, so far. His last run really was too bad to be true, so he must improve here. We’re happy with him at home, so he should run better than he has been. He’s well capable, so let’s hope we see him at his best.
My third ride of the day is on Diamond Kut (16:00) for James Nash. He won nicely the last day and comes into this off a lovely weight. James’ horses are running well at the moment, so he arrives here with every chance.
I partner Benruben (16:35) for Henry in the Beginners Chase. He ran a nice race in another Beginners Chase the last day at Tipperary. He finished fourth there and wasn’t beaten too far. He’s a big horse, so he’ll definitely come on for that. I’m looking forward to this one, it should be a good race.
Finally, I ride Kupatana (17:35) in the handicap chase. She’s been a bit frustrating since arriving from England, as she’s maybe not shown us completely what she can do. She hasn’t run since the end of last year but is going well at home. Hopefully she can take another step forward here and be there or thereabouts at the business end.
