Punchestown reverts back to it’s traditional code with jumps racing. We have a 7 race card with some nice horses in action. Sam Boswell picks out his best tips for the day.

Punchestown (14:30)

As the summer begins to melt away and autumn rapidly approaches, we expect to see some of the more exciting types out and about. This maiden hurdle offers a mix of characters with Charcor of Jessica Harrington’s likely to be involved, if he takes to jumping. The 6-year-old makes a belated start to life over hurdles having been a good little horse on the flat for connections. You’ve also got the likes of Getabay in there who knocked on the door in bumpers last season. But Dewcup for me is the one I want to be on here.

Ted Walsh’s horse was last seen chasing home Barrington Court that won for us in a maiden on the flat over 1m4f. This horse has some very, very smart bumper form. He finished 4th in the Aintree bumper going back to 2019, behind the likes of BetVictor Ambassador’s Jamie Snowden’s smart horse Thebannerkingrebel. This horse brings some really good bumper form to the table and, providing he takes to jumping, the 5-year-old should go close in a contest of this nature.
