BetVictor Brand Ambassador Rachael Blackmore takes 4 rides at Punchestown on Wednesday afternoon. Once again, the rider has shared her thoughts on them all, including the return of the 2018 Ryanair Chase winner, Balko Des Flos.
The Wonky Tonk
Punchestown (13.45)
My first ride is on The Wonky Tonk. He’s only 2Ibs higher than he was when he won in Roscommon off 104. I think he’s more than able to be competitive off that mark. Hopefully he runs a good race. He seems well, and I’m hoping we can be there at the business end.
Supreme Vinnie
Punchestown (14.15)
Next, I’m with Supreme Vinnie. It was great for him to get his head in front on the last day at Tramore. We don’t want to see too much rain coming as he seems to prefer better ground. It’s a ride that I’m really looking forward to and I’m hoping that he could be there or thereabouts at the end.
Popong
Punchestown (14.50)
My next race is aboard Popong in the novice chase. Her jumping fell apart a little mid-race the last day, but she got the job done. I hope she’ll have gained a bit of confidence from that. It looks a competitive race, but she seems to have come out of Listowel well, so hopefully she can run nice race.
Balko Des Flos
Punchestown (15.25)
Then my final ride is on Balko Des Flos. It’s great to see him back on the track. He’s obviously an extremely talented horse and hopefully we can get him back where he was on his better days. He seems very well at home and it would be great to get the season off to a good start.
