It was fantastic to see Cieran Fallan appointed second jockey at Qatar Racing. Cieran’s been an impressive rider since the early stages of his career and is making great strides with a number of winning rides. It wouldn’t be any surpise to see him follow in his fathers footsteps and on day become Champion Jockey.
On to today where we can hopefully find some winners.
This one will be run in very testing conditions. I think that could play into the hands of Jessica Harrington’s, Barrington Court. The 6 year-old by Mastercraftsman is better known for her jumping exploits, and it seems that she has plenty of gears. The mare has an excellent bumper record having won one and finished runner-up in another three. Her recent run at Galway was a tad dissapointing, but I think the horse will be fit and ready for this.
Drawn in stall 3, I like the look of Sheepscar Lad for Nigel Tinkler. With Tom Eaves booked to ride, this horse has a good record at Beverley. He has placed 4 times and won at the track on a variety of surfaces. I don’t think he’ll be incovenienced by the current description of soft going, having won on it at Doncaster. Nigel Tinkler got a winner last week at York, so I’m hoping he can continue the yards good form with my each-way selection for this race.
