The Breeders’ Cup never fails to provide flat racing fans with a last hurrah of the season. As the nights draw in and the thought of warm days feel a distant memory, a mammoth nine races from Keeneland will be on ITV for this year’s Breeders’ Cup.

The final race of the card will see the short-priced Flightline attempt to win the Breeders’ Cup Classic. At 2/5 he is way too short to even think about tipping.

I have, however, got three suggestions for you to consider if you are thinking of trying to find a winner or two at a slightly bigger price.

16:29 Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint

The Sprint is a cracker and should give us one hell of a race, Highfield Princess has been phenomenal for John Quinn this season but I am going to side with the shorter priced Golden Pal.

Whilst the three trips to the UK have failed to show what he does best, he is a sprinter that demands respect. He should get his favoured going and I expect a third straight Breeders’ Cup win for a horse Wes Ward said was the best he has ever trained.

17:50 Breeders' Cup Filly And Mare Turf

A renewal with plenty of familiar names to European racing fans, for me I am keen to take the price on Tuesday.

The Oaks winner has arguably disappointed a little on her two most recent starts, but impressed me getting to within a length of the Arc winner Alpinista at York over slightly further than the trip here. After her Oaks win, trainer Aidan O’Brien felt she was very versatile in trip and on good ground I think Ryan Moore can make the most of this three-year-old to make the frame in a competitive race. At 6/1 she looks to my eye to be each way bet to nothing.

20:40 Breeders' Cup Turf

Charlie Appleby efforts with his superstars abroad have been so impressive this season. Both Rebel Romance and Nations Pride have benefited from finding races outside the UK this season.

For me, I slightly favour the younger horse here and expect Nations Pride to run out the winner. His three stateside runs this season have so far yielded two wins and a second. Conditions will suit and Nations Pride can prove better than his elders here.
