I fancy Willie McCreery’s filly to improve on handicap debut, while Jaega can take the feature at Curragh.

14:45 Plusvital Speed Gene Handicap

I’m not sure calling a daughter of Tamayuz out of Cmonbabylitemyfire Tammy Wynette is genius or sacrilege, but either way, Willie McCreery’s filly should go well in this 6f handicap. She was dropped to five furlongs when getting off the mark at Dundalk last time, but had previously run well in the mud over seven at Leopardstown on her return, and this trip looks ideal on that evidence. An opening mark of 75 looks very fair on the evidence of the Leopardstown run, where she travelled best off all despite ebventually flattening out to finish a close fourth, and she is open to significant improvement after just three lifetime starts.

15:20 Sole Power Sprint Stakes

Primo Uomo gets better with age and this course and distance winner looks the best bet in the listed sprint after putting up a lifetime best to score in the Woodlands Stakes at Navan last month. The six-year-old gelding is lightly raced for his age, and there is no reason to think that he’s just now reaching his peak, as is often the way with sprinters, and Ger O’Leary’s stable star can add to his haul despite conceding weight to most of his opponents, of whom English challengers Kyllang Rock and Fashion Queen look the dangers.

16:30 Plusvital Irish European Breeders Fund Blue Wind Stakes

Aidan O’Brien has a trio of likely sorts in this Oaks Trial named after Dermot Weld’s 1981 Epsom heroine, but it’s Weld himself who is fancied to take the prize with the exciting Jaega, who slammed the useful Samasthiti by a wide margin on her debut at Leopardstown four weeks ago. Samasthiti has since been humbled again at the hands of Flattering, so O’Brien in theory knows the strength of the form in relation to his powerful team of fillies, but the impression is that Jaega can throw her hat into the Oaks reckoning given the impression she made, and she looks open to considerable improvement after just that single start.
