I’m really looking forward to day two at Doncaster where I have my eye on an each-way bet in the Park Hill Fillies’ Stakes.
It was great to see a small, socially distanced crowd back on Town Moor at Doncaster yesterday. Sadly, owing to recent changes we won’t get a crowd for the rest of the meeting. It’s a real shame we won’t have people there for the St. Leger. The final classic of the season was shaping up to be an interesting race and it’s clear the sport needs fans back sooner rather than later. Fingers crossed that going into the Autumn we’ll have some better news regarding that.
One of the feature races on day two is the Park Hill Fillies’ Stakes at 3.15. It’s a shame we’ve lost the favourite Alpinista from this contest, Believe In Love is now the market leader and the complexion of the race has changed with seven runners, meaning we only have the two each-way places.
I still want to take Roger Varian’s horse on with fellow three-year-old Pista, of Joseph O’Brien. At 9/2, I’m pretty sure the unexposed horse by American Pharaoh can get involved in the mix. I was really taken with the two wins at Galway and most recently in a listed contest at Leopardstown.
Joseph O’Brien is a chip off the old block and can potentially upset the favourite here. I’ll be having a small each-way bet on Pista.
