It’s been a busy horse racing week for BetVictor Brand Ambassador, Rachael Blackmore. Rachael has visited Tramore, Tipperary and Sligo over the last few days and now heads to Kilbeggan to pick up 5 rides on Friday.
We caught up with the rider as she chats with us exclusively on the BetVictor Blog.
My first ride on Friday afternoon is on Saucy Yeats (16:00) for Henry. She had a good run in a bumper at Tipperary followed by her first run over hurdles at Galway. This will be my first time riding her. She’s a nice horse and I am hoping the spin at Galway will stand her in good stead here.
Next up, I am aboard Bold Enough (17:10). He won well at Tipperary at the beginning of July and then finished 4th on handicap debut at Galway. We were happy with that run and I think he can run a big race here. He’s very straightforward and he should be fine on the ground, so we’re hopeful going into this.
I partner Flemings Dream (18:15) for Ray Cody in the maiden hurdle. I was 2nd on her in a maiden at Roscommon. She was quite green that day, so I am hoping she’ll improve on that run. Ray thinks a lot of her, so I am really looking forward to getting on board her again.
My second last ride of Friday afternoon is on Jack Hackett (18:45) for Dot Love. This is his first run over fences after winning a PTP, so that should stand him in good stead. He’s very consistent having run in maiden hurdles and has never been too far away. Hopefully running over bigger obstacles will spark some improvement here and we’ll be there at the business end.
Demain Des L'Aube
Finally, I ride Demain Des L’Aube (19:15) for Henry. He was a little bit disappointing on the last day so I’m hoping for some improvement here. He had a very good run at Cork in his first start for Henry. If he can rediscover that form, he could go well on the day.
