After a cracking few days of racing at Leopardstown, it’s the final day of the Leopardstown Christmas Festival. We’ve seen spills, thrills and some phenomenal performances. I’ve looked at the final days card and picked out a couple of tips.

Fort Leney Novice ChaseShattered Love (1.55), who has found only Jury Duty too strong in four starts over fences. She makes plenty of each-way appeal. She was a big disappointment at Cheltenham last March, but seems to need plenty of ease underfoot, and the mares’ allowance brings her firmly into play.

Monalee - Leopardstown

Ryanair Hurdle

It’s impossible to find a solid reason to oppose the mighty Faugheen (2.30) in a sub-par renewal of this contest. He should score an easy win. However, punters don’t need reminding that things have not gone to plan for the favourites at this meeting so far, with some head-scratching results, along with run-outs, disqualifications and late fallers. Willie Mullins has been on the wrong end of more than one of those this week. He will be pleased just to see his star back home in one piece.

Guinness INH Flat Race

It’s not unusual to see Gigginstown revert from hurdles to bumpers with their talented novices, and that policy can be successful here with Daly Tiger, who chased home Real Steel over hurdles last time having won a bumper at Thurles first time up. Real Steel would have gone close in the Grade 1 Future Champions Novice Hurdle but for a last-hurdle fall here earlier in the week and that suggests Noel Meade’s charge will have too many guns for his rivals in an interesting finale.
