Newmarket and Newcastle gave us some very exciting action yesterday. Today, all eyes are on Lingfield and Newmarket. Fingers crossed we can get back to winning ways with two selections for you to consider.
We have not tipped up many favourites since action returned but Miss Yoda to me is a cut above the rest in this slightly strange looking Oaks trial at Lingfield today. John Gosden’s horses have returned to racing in fair form and this three-year-old by derby winner Sea The Stars can take this race and justify favouritism at the front of the market.
The four days of brilliant racing at Newmarket continues with the Coronation Cup. Live on ITV4, we have some quality horses on show with Meydan winner Ghaiyyath out to justify his tag as favourite. Top rated in the field I think he will be hard to beat but, at the prices, I am leaning towards Defoe. Rodger Varian’s horses seem to have returned to action in fairly good form and his six-year-old has a good record fresh. Whilst this is a totally different track to where he claimed the race last year, at 5/1, I think he will put in a bold bid to land back-to-back wins in this Group One. I can see why some may want to back the fantastic Stradivarius but at this trip I think he is opposable.
