Glimpse Of Gala

My first ride on Thursday comes on Glimpse Of Gala in the Pertemps. This is actually my second time riding her, I had a spin on her in a bumper at the November meeting a few years ago now! She won’t be hindered by the softer ground having won last time out at Warwick on heavy in the qualifier, keeping on strongly to draw clear from Ashtown Lad. The cheekpieces go on today and I think she has an each-way chance in what looks like a hot renewal of the Pertemps. As ever in a big field like this, we will need a little luck in running. It’s great to ride for Charlie and fingers crossed we can go well here.

Datsalrightgino - 16:10 Cheltenham

Datsalrightgino has been an improving type this season, who rarely seems to run a bad race. He ran a nice race here when second here to Stage Star back in January on Trials Day. He then followed it up with a fair effort finishing behind Solo at Kempton in a Grade two. On the face of it, he’s a horse who would have perhaps not wanted to see the recent rain. The cheekpieces go on and hopefully things can go well for him back at Cheltenham again.

You Wear It Well

As you would expect for the Festival this is a very competitive renewal of the Mares Novice. I ride You Wear It Well who comes here in great form, having last been seen winning a Grade Two at Sandown. I’ve always had a great connection every time I have ridden her. She’s a tough individual who has to date jumped well, in time she probably wants a bit further but with the recent rain and the switch to the new course, which I think is more of a staying track, she should be well suited to this kind of race. We are there to take our chance and hopefully, we can put in a big run!
