It has been a non-stop time of late and this weekend looks no different. I hope everyone is enjoying the action and looking forward to Royal Ascot next week. Whilst it won’t be quite the same behind closed doors, we will have the best talent on show to entertain you all.
The Chain
Kempton (Friday, 12.45)
Friday, I head to Kempton for just the one ride on The Chain for Jamie Osborne. She had her first start at Newmarket last week and ran a promising race. She sticks to the same trip of six furlongs.
Strawberry Hind
Leicester (Saturday, 17.30)
Saturday I head to Leicester for six rides. First up, I ride Strawberry Hind for Mick Channon in the six-furlong fillies novice stakes where she has her fifth career start.
She has shown some nice form over six on good ground so we won’t want much more rain forecast between now and then.
Bowling Russian
Leicester (Saturday, 18.00)
Next up is Bowling Russian in the six-furlong handicap for George Baker. The horse is looking for a hat trick. His wins have come on the AW but he looks to have come into form this year and has decent form on good ground.
Vitare
Leicester (Saturday, 18.30)
My third ride of the night is on Vitare for Mick Channon in the auction maiden. He has only ran twice but one of which was last week where he finished a 100/1 second at Yarmouth on firm ground. Hopefully he can go one better here.
Born To Please
Leicester (Saturday, 19.30)
Then in the one mile two handicap, I ride Born To Please for Mark Usher. She is a consistent little filly whose last win came over hurdles on heavy ground.
Her best form comes from plenty of juice in the ground and she’ll almost certainly see out the trip. Any rain would be welcome for her.
Takeonefortheteam
Leicester (Saturday, 20.30)
My Penultimate ride on Saturday at Leicester is on Takeonefortheteam for Mark Loughnane. He looks a consistent little horse over one mile.
His wins have been on the AW but he has in no way disgraced himself on the turf and I am looking forward to the ride.
Blairlogie
Leicester (Saturday, 21.00)
Blairlogie will be my final ride of the evening for Mick Channon. He heads out for his 5th career start and just his second run over one mile.
He has a bit of form to find but he’s coming from a yard whose horses are in good form so I wouldn’t be surprised to see an improvement from him in this closing race.
