Racing today comes from Newmarket, Hereford, Fontwell, Kempton, and Gowran Park.
We must touch on the disappointing run from Captain Guinness yesterday he was pulled up and fingers crossed it wasn’t too serious. He made a slight error on landing but seemed to start the race fine and jump the first few ok. The winner Unexpected was impressive and has been made a 14/1 shot for the Arkle off the back of this bold win. For me, he will need to improve plenty to win an Arkle and I need to see a bit more from him before I could be interested in backing him for a big race in March.

We have a busy day ahead with Fontwell offering us another Festival clue, Antony Honeyball runs his exciting novice Coquelicot, she has won three bumpers from her five starts and is currently a 16/1 shot for the Mares Novice at the Festival in March.
Waikiki Waves Each-Way
It is not often the title of a race gives us a clue but it’s hard to not think Waikiki Waves will have been primed to win the race for his owners. A winner here 12 months ago on good ground he has previously won soft and Lingfield, this gives me huge hope the forecast rain won’t stop him from being competitive. The six-year-old is back down to just 3lb above the mark he was on when claiming this race last year, Gary Moore’s horses over both codes have been going close enough without winning in recent days but I think at the prices on offer for Waikiki Waves I think he is a cracking each-way bet to score back to back wins in this two-mile five handicap chase.
