BetVictor Brand Ambassador, Nicola Currie has endured a long wait to start this year’s Flat season. Last year saw her experience the highs and lows of racing with success in the International Handicap at Ascot on King George day, her highest-profile win of 2019 before injury struck.
I am ecstatic racing is back and looking forward to the week ahead being back on the track. Plenty of people have worked hard to ensure we could race from the 1st of June and we owe them a great deal of thanks.
I am looking forward to sharing my views across the Flat season with you and hope you enjoy my blog.
My first ride back will be on a Vadamos 2yr old colt called Balavad trained by Jamie Osborne. We think a lot of him at home he seems a very straight forward type but will learn more when he gets to the track.
Atailof Two Cities
My second ride is on Atailof Two Cities, an unraced 3yr old Champs Elysees filly for Charlie Fellowes. She is a well-bred filly so I am looking forward to finding out more about her in a what could be a decent maiden race.
I am back at Kempton on Wednesday and have a ride for George Baker on Hieronymous. I have ridden this horse a couple of times and was lucky enough to win on him at Kempton over 7f. He has since won again at the track and I’d like to think he is a progressive horse. He steps up to a mile and is up in the weights and class but hopefully he can cope with the conditions and step up to hopefully get him his third win in a row.
