One winner and three second place finishes for BetVictor brand ambassador Rachael Blackmore on Sunday, and today she partners up with Minella Indo as the pair look to score their third win of the season together.
Gaspard Du Seuil
Monday kicks off with the 2 ½ mile Maiden Hurdle and I have Gaspard De Seuil in this. He finished 4th in Wexford the last day, Get My Drift was 3rd and he won a maiden at Leopardstown on Saturday so that’s a good line of form. We think Gaspar has improved from that run and he should enjoy the step up in trip so we’re hopeful he runs a nice race here.
Dommage Pour Toi
So then we’re on to the Pertemps Qualifier and I have Dommage Pour Toi in this. He’s back over hurdles after his last few runs over fences so we’re looking forward to him and hopefully he won’t be too far away.
Then I’m on to French Dynamite for Mouse Morris. This lad was 2nd in the Lismullen Hurdle at Navan the last day, he ran really well and I think he’s coming into this with every chance. It obviously looks a competitive race as you’d expect but hopefully he can run a nice race.
Then we have Boher Cailin in the Christmas Handicap Hurdle. She ran no sort of race in Punchestown the last day so we’re hoping for a much better run out of her now. She runs in a tongue tie for the first time so that might help her and I definitely think she’s better than she showed us the last day. Hopefully she can get back to some of her earlier form and not be too far away.
So the highlight of the day is Minella Indo in the Grade 1 Savills Chase which looks like an incredibly good race. We were very happy with his first two runs this season and he seems really well at home and I’m really looking forward to riding him again. Obviously it looks like an extremely competitive race and you could make a case for any of the runners in this but hopefully we can get the job done.
Fully Charged I have in the Beginners Chase. He didn’t jump particularly well in Thurles the last day but he seems to be schooling well at home since then so hopefully he’ll have improved in that area. He’s going to want to have to improve in that area, and Leopardstown might suit him as more of a galloping track so we’ll see what he can do. He’s a big horse, he was a point to pointer so he should be well up to putting in a good round of jumping so hopefully we can see that from him this time.
