BetVictor have teamed up with Newbury for the year and will be bringing you multiple race meetings on both the jumps and the flat.

Our flagship meeting will be the Hungerford meeting on 14th August but we’ve loads of exciting action and content to bring you as we build up to that.

This weekend sees two days of cracking action over the jumps as Newbury prepares to bring the curtain down on its National Hunt season.

BetVictor are teaming up with Timeform again to bring you a few pointers to help you enjoy the action at Newbury including ‘The Banker’, ‘Handicap Hotshot’ and ‘Likely Longshot*’.

Hope you enjoy and we look forward to welcoming you at Newbury when crowds are soon allowed back in.

Coeur Serein

Jonjo O'Neill to continue good form

Coeur Serein confirmed the promise of his handicap debut with an impressive victory at Warwick the Sunday before last, looking a long way ahead of his mark.

He was produced to lead two out and quickly asserted despite putting in an awkward jump at the final flight, ultimately winning by six lengths with plenty to spare.

This will be tougher under a 7 lb penalty, but Coeur Serein appeals as the type who should go on improving, still only a seven-year-old with very few miles on the clock.

Therefore, he rates a confident selection to follow up for Jonjo O’Neill, who is enjoying a terrific season and has already plundered the Grand Annual at Cheltenham and the Midlands National at Uttoxeter this month.

Masters Legacy

Race fit and look ready to go close

Masters Legacy won two of his three starts in novice company last season, looking a useful hurdler in the making, and he shaped well after 14 months off when fourth on his handicap debut at Taunton last time.

Settled in touch in the early stages, he travelled well and looked the likeliest winner when being produced to lead three out (hit a low of 1.74-running), but the lack of a recent run seemed to take its toll in the straight, and he weakened to be beaten 18 lengths.

Likely to strip fitter with that outing under his belt, Masters Legacy has been dropped 2 lb since then and is well worth a chance to prove himself better than a BHA mark of 134, with his lightly-raced profile also pointing to further progress.
