After getting back to winning ways onboard Envoi Allen yesterday at Leopardstown, Brand Ambassador Rachael Blackmore has five more rides to tell us all about. Including being onboard A Plus Tard, the favourite for the Savills Chase.
Life In The Park
First, it was brilliant to win a grade one on Envoi Allen yesterday, but we move straight on to a busy day again here at Leopardstown. The first of my five rides kick off with Life In the Park in the opening maiden hurdle. She ran very well finishing third at Punchestown on her first start for Henry, hopefully she can take a step forward here and improve on that run to be involved at the finish.
Holymacapony runs in the Pertemps Qualifier reverting to hurdles after running over fences last month. He didn’t jump that well over the bigger obstacles that day, he seems very well at home since and based on his maiden hurdle form he is a very good horse. I definitely think there is a lot more to come from him and hopefully we can see that today.
I team up with Burning Victory trained by Willie Mullins in the Christmas Hurdle over three miles. The second to Buzz in the Cesarewitch on the flat was a great run back in October, she has had just the one run over hurdles since this season and will need to jump well here as this is very competitive.
A Plus Tard
The highlight of the day is the Savills Chase where I am on A Plus Tard. He was extremely impressive when winning the Betfair Chase at Haydock in November. He has been going well at home since that win and showed real guts when winning this race 12 months ago from Kemboy. Fingers crossed we get the same result today.
Ain't That A Shame
My final ride of the day comes on Ain’t That A Shame in the Beginners chase, he ran very well last time out at Fairyhouse being beaten only 15 lengths by the talented Stattler, that was his first effort over fences and whilst this is a competitive race he took to chasing well and I am looking forward to him here.
