BetVictor Ambassador Rachael Blackmore has four rides on day one of the Dublin Racing Festival and she’s given us the lowdown ahead of her trip to Leopardstown.
Grand Jury
13:05 Leopardstown
My four rides on Saturday get started with Grand Jury in the grade one novice over two mile six. He was a very good second to Ginto the last day in the Lawlors of Naas with Hollow Games back in third. He seems very well since that run and is an improving horse hopefully we can get the weekend off to a great start here.
Vadaly
13:35 Leopardstown
Next up we have the grade one juvenile which looks a serious race, I take the ride on Vadaly here for Willie Mullins in the Kenny Alexander colours, she won her only start in France on soft ground in the Summer over hurdles at Dieppe. This is her first start for new connections, and she seems to have been doing everything right at home, hopefully she can put up a good performance.
Saint Sam
14:10 Leopardstown
I’m delighted to pick up the ride on Saint Sam in the Irish Arkle, he won very well at Fairyhouse the last day. Looking at this race most of them have done nothing wrong so far and it looks a strong renewal. On what we have seen of Saint Sam so far, he is more than entitled to be involved at the finish.
Rightplacerighttime
14:45 Leopardstown
My last ride of the day comes on Rightplacerighttime who is in off a light weight carrying just 10 stone for Emmett Mullins in the handicap hurdle. He was disappointing the last day at Haydock, and you need plenty of luck in running in a race as competitive as this but he is in good hands and will hopefully run a big race. He rounds off a nice book of rides on day one for me.
