Rachael Blackmore Looking For Another Satisfying Weekend5 min read
Fresh from last weekend’s marvellous victory aboard Honeysuckle, BetVictor Brand Ambassador Rachael Blackmore has rides across the weekend. Here she gives us her thoughts on last week, as well as looking forward to her mounts on Saturday and Sunday.
“I’d like to start with looking back at last week’s win aboard Honeysuckle. I feel very lucky to be partnering her, it’s what every jockey hopes for and it’s great to be involved. She put the race to bed very early on and won in tremendous fashion, so it’s an exciting time for her as we look forward. It looks like she will skip Christmas and race again in the new year before going to the Cheltenham Festival in March”.
“I start off the weekend partnering Fusian (12.05) in the Maiden Hurdle at Navan. He had a decent run last day at Punchestown and should benefit from that. He was a nice horse in France before coming over to join Henry’s, so I’m hoping that he comes on from that previous run and puts his best foot forward here. If he does, he could certainly be in the mix at the end.
Next, I’m aboard Envious Editor (12.35) in the Maiden Hurdle. He’s a very nice horse who I know connections think a lot of. He goes into this one having finished 2nd in two Maiden Hurdles and if he carries that form into this race, he shouldn’t be too far away.
I’m looking forward to taking the ride on Tout Es Permis (13.05) for Noel Meade in the Handicap Hurdle. He comes into this with a 155 chase rating, so if he can deliver a performance of that standard back over hurdles, he’ll be very hard to peg back.
My next ride is on Dommage Pour Toi (13.35) in the Beginners Chase. He’s a very nice horse and I’m looking forward to partnering him again. He finished a good 6th last day and goes into this in nice shape. It took him a while to find his jumping rhythm that day and I think he’ll have learned from that experience. All being well, he shouldn’t be too far away here.
I partner Due Reward (14.10) in the Novice Chase. He was 2nd in the Galway Hurdle and then he won the Beginners Chase in Killarney after that. It’s a competitive race but he comes into the race fresh and well so we’re hopeful of a good run.
My final ride on Saturday is aboard Minella Times (14.45). He was 2nd last day at Clonmel and comes into this carrying 9’10, so he has a live chance. He’s in good order at home, so we’re excited to see if he can continue his consistent run of form.”

“First up, I partner Sinoria (15.05) in the EBF Mares Novice Chase at Cork. She comes into this having won her Beginners Chase at Thurles and had impressive form figures over hurdles last season. She’s took to her fences naturally and seems to really enjoy herself. If she continues to progress in this fashion, she should be in the mix at the business end here.
Finally, I ride Dicey (15.35) in the Novice Handicap Hurdle. She was a good 2nd at Ballinrobe back in September before having two underwhelming runs at Thurles. If she can rediscover her form when she finished 2nd, she’ll have every chance of being there or thereabouts at the end”.
