It was brilliant to go to Naas on Saturday and go home with four winners, a special day. I’m very lucky to be getting legged up on some very nice horses. I am sure the four will get a good mention in my next blog when we have a bit more time to reflect on them and hopefully some good efforts from today’s card at Navan.
My day gets started with Serenity Grove in the grade three auction hurdle, he was a very impressive winner of a maiden hurdle at Downpatrick in September before running no sort of race at Limerick last time out. I think you can draw a line in that run as he just didn’t perform at all. He has schooled well at home since and seems well so fingers crossed we can get back on track here.
Then my next ride comes in the Fortria Chase on Notebook, I am really looking forward to riding him he is a horse I just love to ride. He is a high-class type who runs well fresh, the ground and the track should suit. He has given me some great days and whilst we had a few disappointing ones last season, hopefully, we can get him back on track and start his season with a big run.
My final ride on Sunday is Ballyadam in the beginner’s chase, he took a heavy fall at Punchestown at the first last time out. He seems fine with no ill effects and has schooled very well since. He is a top-class horse being a grade one winner over hurdles and only having the likes of Appreciate It in front of him on a few occasions. Hopefully, we can put the last day behind us and get him on the right track over fences here today.
