BetVictor Brand Ambassador Rachael Blackmore takes us through her four runners this weekend from Fairyhouse & Punchestown:
My only ride at Fairyhouse on Saturday is Arvico Blue in the Handicap Chase (14:10).
He’s a lovely horse, he fell last time out at Thurles nearly a year ago and had a little setback after that. But he’s back now, he’s going very well at home and I imagine he’ll improve from whatever he does here. I’m very much looking forward to seeing him back in action and he shouldn’t be too far away.
My first race on Sunday is on Captain Guinness in the 14:40 Novice Hurdle. He’s a very nice horse and I was very impressed with him the last day. A lot of Henry De Bromhead’s horses are taking a run but he seems to be a lot more forward than I thought.
He’s quite mature in himself and he seems to know his job. He was a good winner the last day at Navan and although Blackbow fell, I still think we had the winning of the race. This is a much bigger ask against the likes of Andy Dufresne, but he’s very well at home and I’m hoping for a big run.
Then I move on to Rebel Early in the 15:15 Handicap Hurdle. Unfortunately she unseated the last day but was a good 2nd at Gowran Park on her run before that. She’s only 3lbs higher here and she should definitely be in the shake-up.
My last ride is on Le Musigny for Henry in the Maiden Hurdle (15:45). He’s a nice horse who’s going well at home. He’s ran two point-to-points and was 3rd in one of those, so that should help and I’m hoping he can run a nice race.
Thanks again to Rachael and best of luck to all this weekend.
