BetVictor Brand Ambassador Rachael Blackmore brought the curtain down on 2019 in stunning style, and she’s aiming to start 2020 in the same fashion. Here she takes us through her four rides at Tramore on New Year’s Day.

So my first ride today is Epson Du Houx for Gigginstown and Henry De Bromhead in the 12:00 Maiden Hurdle. He got quite tired the last day when he fell when he probably would have finished 4th. He’s a forward going type and he’s going well at home, so we hope he’ll be fitter and improve upon his last run.

I’m on Tune The Chello for Henry again in the 13:10 Maiden Hurdle. She was a lovely 4th the last day and she’s up in trip here which should suit her, and she definitely should be in the shake-up.

Then I ride Acapella Bourgeois for Willie Mullins in the 14:20 New Year’s Day Chase. Obviously all eyes will be on Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Al Boum Photo in this race but there’s only four of us lining up and I’m very much looking forward to the ride.

My last run is Benefit Run in the 14:55 Novice Chase for Ross O’Sullivan. He won his Beginners Chase in Thurles the last day and looks to have found a nice opportunity here, so hopefully he can capitalise on that and he shouldn’t be too far away.

2019 In Review

It has been a wonderful 2019 with so many highlights. The obvious starting point has to be riding two winners at the Cheltenham Festival back in March. A Plus Tard gave me such a thrill over fences then to follow it up with Minella Indo winning the Albert Bartlett on the Friday was amazing.

Both horses have given me some great days and I hope they can continue to do so in 2020.

I should also give a mention to the wonderful Honeysuckle who has been a true star. Whilst she may have missed the Cheltenham Festival this year, her win in the Hatton’s Grace was another highlight I will treasure for a long time to come.

Finally I just wanted to take a moment to wish all the trainers and owners I ride for a happy new year as well as everyone at BetVictor and those of you who read my regular blog. Fingers crossed for another brilliant year ahead for all of us.

Thanks again to Rachael, good luck everyone and happy new year from all at BetVictor.
