BetVictor ambassador Rachael Blackmore has five rides this weekend including three at Naas on Sunday which we sponsor. Let’s get her thoughts on each ride.

Fairyhouse - 15:08

Saturday at Fairyhouse I get started with Irascible in the handicap hurdle over two miles four, he was last seen running in the Supreme at the Festival last March. He seems in good form at home, and we have done plenty with him. I am looking forward to him here, he did finish just nine lengths behind Appreciate It in a Grade One at Leopardstown last season which looks a strong piece of form. He is a nice horse and whatever he does here I imagine he will improve on but should have done enough at home to put in a good effort.

Sovereign Gold

Fairyhouse - 16:50

My other ride on the card at Fairyhouse is the very consistent Sovereign Gold, she ran well last month at Down Royal when third and at Punchestown on New Years Eve when she was also third. Fingers crossed she can continue to run well and get her head in front today.

Captain Guinness

Naas - 14:00

Sunday, I get started with Captain Guinness in the Grade Three, he has run some great races in defeat recently having finished a good third in the Tingle Creek and then going down to Chacun Pour Soi at the Dublin Racing Festival. The ground may not be ideal as I think he would prefer something slightly better than the current going which is heavy. Despite that, I am really looking forward to him and hope he can put up a good performance at a track which he seems to like.

Gabbys Cross

Naas - 14:30

Then we are onto Gabbys Cross in the competitive novice handicap chase, this is his first run in a handicap chase, and he seems in good form at home. We are hoping he can put up a good performance here, I think he was unlucky at Naas in December when falling after a silly mistake, he has been schooling well since so hopefully he can run well here.

Georgette Fun

Naas - 17:00

Finally, my last ride of the day is on Georgette Fun in the handicap hurdle over just shy of 2 miles. This will be her first run for Henry having just had the one previous run in Ireland back in February 2020. She is doing things nicely at home, has schooled well and whilst we will learn plenty about her here, she shouldn’t be too far away based on what we have seen so far.
