BetVictor ambassador Rachael Blackmore has four rides over the weekend at Cork and Fairyhouse. We get her views on each of them ahead of a wet weekend of racing.
Cork - 13:38
My first ride of the weekend comes on Shantreusse for Henry in the maiden hurdle over three miles. He ran very well on his first start over hurdles finishing second to Mr Fred Rodgers who has since won again. Stepping up to three miles here should be no issue for him, the bumper he won for Sam Curling came on soft ground as well as finishing second to Ginto on heavy in a bumper means the softer conditions should be fine for him today. He has been going well at home since his last run so hopefully we can get his head in front here.
Cork - 14:13
My other ride on the card comes for James Nash on Scheu Time in the handicap hurdle over two mile four. He was last seen running at Cheltenham behind Sporting John over three miles. He finished just five lengths behind the Phillip Hobbs trained horse that day which was a great run. He is a lovely ride to pick up and I am looking forward to seeing how we get on.
Fairyhouse - 14:20
Sunday, I have two at Fairyhouse and I get started in the Dan Moore Memorial Chase with Soviet Pimpernel. It’s my first time riding him here and the softer conditions should suit him well looking at his form, he is right at the foot of the weights carrying just 9-12, off that weight hopefully he can be competitive here in the Robcour silks.
Low Lie The Fields
Fairyhouse - 15:20
My other ride on Sunday is Low Lie The Fields for Henry in the rated novice chase. He unfortunately unseated at the first last time out but prior to that ran in two good beginners chases races won by Bob Olinger and Ferny Hollow. He has schooled well since his mishap at Limerick, and he can hopefully put in a good effort here today.
