BetVictor ambassador Rachael Blackmore has another busy weekend starting with a trip over to Sandown to try and get the better of Chacun Pour Soi before six rides at Punchestown on Sunday which includes a spin on Envoi Allen in the highlight competitive John Durkan. Let’s hear what she has to say about her rides.
Sandown - 14:25
Saturday is another flying visit to the UK this time to ride Captain Guinness in the Tingle Creek. He made his seasonal return at Naas when winning the Poplar Chase in nice style. He seems to be very well at home, this looks a very good race with Chacun Pour Soi heading the ratings he is the one to beat. The rest are good horses, and all do have the benefit of a run under their belts unlike him. It should be a great race and I am really looking forward to jumping round Sandown.
The Names Jock
Punchestown - 11:55
My first ride Sunday comes in the BetVictor sponsored Rated Novice Hurdle for John Kiely on The Names Jock, he won a maiden hurdle back at Listowel easy enough back in September. This looks a competitive race but hopefully we can be involved at the finish.
Punchestown - 12:25
Next up is Schone Aussicht for Henry in the first division of the handicap hurdle. She won during the summer at Limerick and Downpatrick, since then she has been quite consistent with good runs including a fifth at the Galway Festival where she was only beat six lengths. Hopefully she can put in a good run returning from a little break since her last start at Tramore, she seems well at home, so fingers crossed she goes well again.
Punchestown - 12:55
My ride in the other half of the divided handicap is on Boro Tari again for Henry she ran at Navan the last day finishing sixth which her first start after over a year off the track. She has been well at home since, and her fitness will have improved since that first outing. With that run under her belt hopefully we see a bit more from her today.
Punchestown - 14:00
We then come to the big race of the day the John Durkan. This looks a brilliant renewal of the race, I am back on Envoi Allen again, it goes without saying just how exciting a horse he is and how I just can’t wait to ride him. Allaho is currently rated 11 pounds higher than him so he is going to have to step up and show a bit more, that said I am very confident he can, and I am expecting a very big run out of him in a deep race.
Punchestown - 14:35
Next up is the beginners chase where I am on Coeur Sublime, who makes his first start for Henry and his first over fences. He was rated at his peak over hurdles at 155 and is a lovely horse, he has schooled well and should run a nice race. Ferny Hollow is making his return here and this could develop into a very good race.
Punchestown - 15:05
My final ride comes on Sovereign Gold, she won a maiden hurdle at Tipperary in May keeping on strongly to win by 14 lengths. She comes back to chasing here today with the more rain we get likely to increase her chances. Fingers crossed she can go well and round off a busy day for me with a good effort.
