After racing at Newbury yesterday, Brand Ambassador Rachael Blackmore returns to Ireland at Fairyhouse where she will reunite with the unbeaten Honeysuckle.
Max Mayhem
Fairyhouse 12:35
A busy day at Fairyhouse gets started for me in the juvenile hurdle where I ride Max Mayhem in the Robcour silks.
Trained by Joseph O’Brien this is his first start over hurdles. He was a winner on the flat over a trip twice. It has been said that he has been schooling well at home, so I am looking forward to getting his jumping career started here.
Fingers crossed we can have a great first experience.
Uthred
Fairyhouse 13:05
Next up is the grade one Royal Bond in which I ride Uthred again for Joseph. He won nicely at Naas last time out despite having to make most of the running there which wouldn’t have suited.
He should be able to get a lead here which I think could suit him even better. Fingers crossed he can go well in a deep renewal of this race.
Midnight Run
Fairyhouse 13:35
The Drinmore is next and compared to last year with Envoi Allen this looks like an open renewal of a great race. I think you can make cases for plenty in here including Midnight Run who I ride, he wasn’t too far behind today’s favourite Gabynako here earlier in the month, hopefully, he can go well and give us a shot at reversing that form.
Honeysuckle
Fairyhouse 14:40
Then we come to the biggest race of the day with the Hattons Grace and Honeysuckle. She has given me so many great days including in this race last year, fingers crossed this will be another one.
Henry has done plenty with her at home and Coleman who rides her out each day and knows her inside out is happy with her. She is also an exciting ride to look forward to and today is no different.
Gua Du Large
Fairyhouse
Gua Du Large is my final ride of the day. He was very disappointing last time out at Down Royal he just didn’t finish out his race at all. I do think however he is a horse with plenty of ability hopefully he can show that here today, since that run he has seemed well at home, let’s hope we see that on the track.
