Rachael Blackmore has started this season in good form, she was leading rider at the Tramore Festival and her win in the Kerry National will live long in the memory. Like many National Hunt fans, Rachael is eagerly anticipating the Winter jumps season;

It is very exciting time all the yards have their Winter horses back in now and they all look well, no big questions have been asked of them yet so all the dreams are still alive, I am really looking forward to the season ahead.

We caught up with Rachael ahead of this weekend where she has five rides across Saturday and Sunday.

Rachael Blackmore’s Comments

My first ride of the weekend is on Whenurgoodurgood (2.20) at Navan. Nigel Sleven’s 7-year-old landed a Killarney maiden back in July and then finished 5th at Bellowstown at the end of August.

The Rubinator for Ross O Sullivan looks like the one to beat here, he was unlucky at Listowel the last day. Whenurugoodurgood hopefully won’t be too far away.

Wolfofallstreets (2.55) on his second last start he finished a credible 3rd to Nibblers Charm in Cork who won again in Downpatrick yesterday. Although he is still a maiden, he could be competitive off a mark of 85. If he continues this upward curve, he could go close.

I’m looking forward to seeing how Noureev (4.05) takes to chasing after winning a maiden hurdle in Clonmel last July. He could be the type to take to fences, so hopefully he can make a nice start to his chasing campaign.

Henry De Bromhead - Rachael Blackmore

It will be great to partner Megalomainiac (4.40) again for Henry De Bromhead after recent success when beating subsequent winner Demi Pile at Tramore. He is progressing well and I’m expecting another big run.

On to Sunday when I take the ride on Jade Mountain (4.30) at the Curragh for Andrew McNamara. He will need to improve from his first start at Gowran, but he is in good hands so I’m looking forward to riding him.

Rachael will be sharing her views on her rides throughout the Jumps campaign including the Spring Festivals. Make sure you follow @BetVictorRacing to see all the latest news from our racing ambassadors and daily selections.
