It’s set to be another action-packed afternoon of racing and Sam Boswell is here to hopefully guide you in the direction of a couple of winners at Goodwood.
The Prestige Stakes is always an interested group 3 race for fillies. Six go to post here, with the ground currently soft. The market is headed by Pomelo for Ralph Beckett. He has an excellent record in the race and had a good win at Newbury last time out. However, I am looking to take him on with Prado (13:50) of Charlie Hills. The Hills team are in good form and Ryan Moore is booked to ride. He won last time out, despite stumbling at the start. Second that day, Soft Whisper has since gone on to win, and I’d be surprised if Prado doesn’t go well in conditions that should be ideal of her.
Duke of Hazzard
The Celebration Mile is the feature race at Goodwood. With soft ground in the going description, it means questions can be raised of a few at the top of the market. Benbatl has a fantastic record fresh, but I would question his record with ease underfoot. Regal Reality is another that would appreciate quicker ground. This leads me to my selection, Duke of Hazzard (15:35). This horse put up a huge run when 2nd to Space Blues at the track over 7 furlongs in the Lennox Stakes. Whilst he was no match for the winner, he was beaten only 2 lengths. He was 3rd in the summer mile and whilst his preference may be on better ground, his fondness of the track means he is my each-way selection here.
