One Of Us – Each Way
Just the one tip for today; nothing beats a good staying chase and the Devon National could be a proper test in the conditions. With the expected going and long-distance trip, it could pay to back a horse proven with those two attributes.
The first on the shortlist was Dawson’s City who has won the previous two renewals of the race. He ran well enough to a point at Ascot last time out and has clearly been laid out to try and score a hat trick of wins in this contest. That said, the horse is now eleven and this renewal looks very competitive in comparison to recent years.
One Of Us is going to be my selection considering he is more than double the price of Dawson’s City and has a few less miles on the clock. Dropped a pound for an average run last time out, one concern could be heavy but at the prices and with Sean Bowen booked to ride, I think Nick Williams’ eight-year-old warrants respect at an each-way price.
