You may recognise him from the live racing channels on TV, where he’s represented us the length and breadth of the country at the best tracks in the sport. BetVictor brand ambassador and horse racing expert Sam Boswell is here to lend you his insight for a variety of upcoming meetings, and deliver a selection of his best tips, in his own exclusive column.

Friday edges us a day closer to the Cheltenham Festival. Yesterday I spent a fantastic evening at the Goat pub in Dublin for the Racehour preview night. These events are always great fun and offer the chance for people to hear experts’ views on the biggest week in racing.

The strength of support for the Ballymore favourite Envoi Allen was notable and he looks to be fast becoming one of the banker bets of the meeting. You can see the latest on that market here.

Racing today comes from Newbury and Doncaster over the sticks whilst all-weather fans have three cards at Dundalk, Wolverhampton and Lingfield to get stuck into.

It Sure Is to win

The Donelly family have a strong team of novice hurdlers this season. It Sure Is wouldn’t perhaps yet be seen in the same league as the likes of Supreme hot pot Shishkin but he can give his trainer Nicky Henderson yet another winner at Newbury. The five-year-old by Shirroco was a good second at the track back in November before he headed to Ascot. In his last run, he looked a tad tricky, being a bit keen before finding little at the business end of the race. Since that run, he has had a wind op which may prove to be the key to unlocking a win under rules for It Sure Is in a field where both Eritage and Full Back have to concede penalties for wins earlier this season.
